Obituary for Audrey J Huckins (Spooner)

DURHAM: Audrey J Huckins, passed away on Sunday, April 11,2020 with family by her side at Harmony Homes by the Bay in Durham, NH.
She was born on March 3, 1927 to William F. and Ingeborg (Christensen) Spooner in Newburgh, NY.
During WWII she married William Henson and moved to Portsmouth, NH where she raised her two sons. She was an accomplished knitter who kept her family in beautiful sweaters and mittens.
Audrey married Albert G. Huckins and moved to Northwood, NH in 1969. She loved living on Long Pond where she enjoyed the beautiful view of the water. She could often be found swimming off her beach or canoeing on the lake. She was involved in many activities in Northwood including being a Worthy Matron of Eastern Star, an officer of the Women’s Club, and a member of a knitting group. She volunteered at the Deerfield Fair and at the Concord Hospital knitting hats for newborns. She was involved with many local churches.
Audrey was predeceased by her husband Albert Huckins, her son John William Henson, and her grandson Kevin Henson. Survivors include her son Steven P Henson and his wife Cathy, her daughter-in-law Barbara Henson, her grandchildren Jay Henson, Jeff Henson, Michael Henson, and Elizabeth Royal as well as numerous great grandchildren.
There will be a celebration of life later in the summer.
