Obituary for David F West
SOMERSWORTH, NH - David F. West, 66, of Somersworth NH passed away suddenly on Saturday December 5th. Born in Tarrytown NY, Dave was raised in Dover NH and after marrying his highschool sweetheart, moved to Barrington NH to raise his young family. Later in adulthood Dave moved back to the Dover Tri-town area where he remained for the duration of his life. He worked hard for many years in the propane gas industry.
An avid reader, Dave was rarely spotted without a paperback novel in his hand, or in his pocket. As a creature of habit he could frequently be found at his favorite local breakfast or lunch spots where he was well known by face, if not by name. Dave was a man of few words, but with a kind heart and a desire to help others. He was a friend of Bill W. and found peace in helping others through their journeys. He had many hobbies and interests, including marksmanship, and was always tinkering and planning his next project.
Dave is survived by his children Amy Barchey and Jason West, and grandchildren Tristan, Jayla, Jack, and Lily Mae. His brother Jonathan West and sister Rachel Tipton, their families, and his devoted father, Franklin West, of Dover.
He will be dearly missed by all.
SERVICES - Public calling hours will be held on Thursday December the 17th, from 4:00pm-6:00pm, at the Wiggin-Purdy-McCooey-Dion Funeral home, 655 Central Ave in Dover, NH. Masks and social distancing will respectfully be required. A graveside service will follow in the spring. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations could be made in Dave's name to the Triangle Club of Dover, 120 Broadway St, Dover NH, 03820.
