Obituary for Frances M Kirkpatrick (George)

Dover--Frances M. (George) Kirkpatrick, 92, of 22 Roberts Rd., died Monday, March 1, 2021, after a brief illness. Frances, daughter of the late Walter and Matilda George of Alton, NH, was born October 10, 1928 in Wolfeboro, NH. She was the younger sister to the late Margery French of Rochester, NH.
Frances graduated from Spaulding High School in Rochester, NH in 1946. She married the late David B. Kirkpatrick of Alton in 1948. In 1956 they moved to Dover, NH to provide an excellent education for their children. Children include son, Neil R. Kirkpatrick of Dover and daughter, Susan E. Zoller of Concord. David adored Frances. They devoted themselves to caring and providing for their children. In her later years, Frances enjoyed holiday gatherings with family including six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Frances retired from the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in 1986 where she worked in the supply department for 26 years. A friend and co-worker remembers her as “diligent and meeting challenges with dignity and resolve.” Frances and David spent retirement years enjoying their camp in Maine and winter trips to Florida. Daughter Susan regards her mom as her hero, a mother who always made time to hear about days at school after working her demanding job
each day. Son Neil is grateful for his mother’s unconditional love through the different chapters of life.
In recent years, Frances appreciated the caregivers from Atlantic Homelife who were so devoted to her care each day. Caregiver “blue eyes” called Frances “sunshine” and speaks of her as a “caring and loving lady” with a daily smile. Family members thank the visiting nurses of Wentworth Homecare for their regular visits.
Frances will be buried this summer in the Old Riverside Cemetery in Alton, NH after a private, family ceremony.
Arrangements were handled by Purdy Funeral Service, 655 Central Ave., Dover, NH.
