Obituary for George T Musler Mr.

BARRINGTON – George Thomas Musler, 87, died at home on June 7, 2016. He passed away quietly surrounded by family. Born on January 11, 1929, in Dedham Mass., George served during WWII and later graduated with a Mechanical Engineering Bachelor's degree from North Eastern. He and his wife Helen moved their family to New Hampshire in 1960 and, much to the surprise of Helen's family, bought back one of the family farms - Sunnyside. George worked for Eastern Air Device and Moore Business Forms in Dover and later worked for the N.H. Office of Emergency Management, which he retired from after 16 years. Along with his daily job, George was a member of the Town of Barrington Board of Selectman for 36 years and a member of the N.H. House of Representatives for 26 years. George was also involved in voluntary police and fire work. He recently received his award for 50 years of membership with the Barrington Grange and was a long standing member of the VFW. George is survived by his wife of 65 years, Helen; children, Sally York and her husband Jay Chastenay, Judy Fogarty, Gary Musler and his wife Cindy; grandchildren, James York, Amy Shaw, Justin Fogarty, Lydia Fogarty, Deidra Musler, Gary Musler II; great-grandchildren Kaylee York, Addison Shaw, and Connor Fogarty. Extended family includes Jeanne Upham of Maine along with two nephews and five nieces. George will be deeply missed by his family and friends throughout the state of New Hampshire. SERVICES: Following cremation, callings hours will be held Wednesday, June 15, 2016, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Purdy Funeral Home in Lee, N.H., on Route 4 with a Memorial Service to be held at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Barrington Ambulance Associate at PO Box 820 Barrington, NH 03825 – Attention Tony Maggio
