Obituary for Jeanette A Teague (Rooney)

South Berwick - Jeanette Agnes Teague (Rooney), 63 of South Berwick Maine passed away peacefully at home on February 4, 2022 following a courageous battle with cancer.

Jeanette was born September 25, 1958 to John (Geoffrey) Rooney and Patricia (Maynard) of Sydney, Australia. Jeanette was the second eldest of seven children and her mother relied upon her to help manage the household and her six brothers.

Jeanette attended school at Sacred Heart Mosman and Monte Sant Angelo College North Sydney. After graduating from High School she went to the University of Technology Sydney where she completed a degree in Computer Science. Jeanette established a career as a computer mainframe programmer, at a time when computing was still an emerging profession. She met her husband Robert while vacationing in Hawaii and after a long-distance relationship moved to the United States. They were married in 1993 and settled in South Berwick, Maine. Jeanette worked tirelessly raising her family during the next 25 years. She was a devoted mother and wife, spending countless hours volunteering with The Seacoast Swim Association and many other youth organizations. Jeanette was also a faithful parishioner and supported a myriad of activities in the catholic church. She enjoyed sewing, crafting jewelry, and consuming potfulls of “good strong tea”.

She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Robert E Teague and children Matthew and Emma. She leaves behind her brothers John and wife Kerry, Steve and fiancé Lisa, Bernard, Tom, Jim and wife Liesa and Paul. She will be fondly remembered by life-long friend Dyana Illievski, her in-laws Robert K Teague and Jo-ann Shoram, brother and sister in-law Jeff and Cheryl Ovitt and trusted cousins Anne, Robert, John, Ruth, Ken, Frances, Mary-Jane, Richard and Cate. Most especially, Jeanette will be missed by her beloved niece and nephews Sean, Damien, Jordan, Hunter, Jackson and Lachlan.

Friends and family may call on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 from 4:00-6:00pm, at Wiggin-Purdy-McCooey-Dion Funeral Home, 655 Central Ave, Dover, NH.
A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at 11:00am, at St Martin Church 120 Maple Street Somersworth, New Hampshire
Interment will take place later this spring at Mt Cavalry Cemetery in Somersworth, NH.
