Obituary for Joseph G Ainsworth

Joseph G. Ainsworth
Somersworth: Joseph G. Ainsworth, 84 of Blackwater Road, passed away on February 8, 2021
at Mass General Hospital in Boston.
Joseph was born on July 7, 1936 in Dover, NH; the son of the late Robert and Eliza (Chapman)
Ainsworth. He served in the US Army, having served part of his time in Germany. He then
worked for the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for 29 years in the paint shop before retiring. He still

working in his yard and workshop and taking care of his family. He especially loved spending
time with his brother and best friend Donald each day, sitting in the garage or backyard, tipping
back a few beers together while watching the world go by. He also enjoyed sitting under the
maple tree in backyard with family and friends, listening to country music, reminiscing and
catching up.
He was predeceased by his parents and his wife of 44 years, Marsha (Joy), his sister, Helen, and
brothers, William, Richard, Robert, Lloyd and John.
He is survived by his sisters, Doris and Jane; brother, Donald ; son, Vince; daughter, Tammy;
granddaughter, Teri-Lee; great grandchildren; many loving nieces and nephews and a lifetime of
friends.
At Joseph's request, there will be no services. Joseph will be buried in a private ceremony in the
spring at Forest Glade Cemetery in Somersworth.
The family wishes to thank all of Joseph's caregivers at Wentworth Douglass Hospital and
Massachusetts General Hospital.
