Joyce Lynn Minicucci
Northwood, NH: Joyce Lynn Minicucci, 89, of Northwood, NH left this earth on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at her home with her daughter by her side after a lengthy battle with dementia.
Joyce was born on April 21, 1932 in Lawrence, MA; the daughter of James V. and Lina (Laudani) Assenza
Joyce attended Venerini Academy, Worcester, MA for a couple of years in high school but ultimately graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Lawrence, MA. She was employed at Filene’s Basement, commuting by train to Boston, MA for a few years and then pursued a career in telecommunications in the position of a switchboard operator for AT&T where she retired after 38 years of service. She was a parishioner of Holy Rosary Church in Lawrence for many years until she moved to NH with her daughter and family. During her retirement years Joyce became a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Northwood, NH. She volunteered at her grandchildren’s school, Portsmouth Christian Academy, was an avid walker and loved to watch Bette Davis movies. Joyce was at her happiest when taking care of her daughter and then her grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her father James V. Assenza and Mother Lina Assenza, Sisters: Nellie Nicolosi, Constance Bedard, Frances Feroce and Brother: Tommy Assenza.
Joyce is survived by her beloved daughter, Susan (Sue) J Companion of Northwood, NH, her son-in-law, Thomas (Tuck) J Companion and her precious grandchildren: Shea C Companion and his wife Patricia Companion of Texas, Brittany K Companion and her husband, Dustin Haynes of Northwood, NH, Jared J Companion and his wife, Betsy Companion of Ohio and Austin Companion of Northwood, NH and seven cherished great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews throughout the country.

Friends and family are welcome to pay their last respects Thursday evening between 5-7 pm March 31, 2022 at Purdy Memorial Chapel (2 Concord Rd, Lee NH 03861).
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrate at 10AM on Friday, April 1, 2022 in the Parish of St. Josephs Church, 844 1st NH Turnpike, Northwood, NH 03261, with Reverend John B MacKenzie, officiating. Interment will be immediately following at Pine Grove Cemetery, Rochester Rd. Northwood, NH 03261.
