Obituary for Kraig David Allen

Kraig D. Allen of Lee, NH passed away at his home on December 13, 2021 at the age of 50. Born in Nashua, NH on July 13, 1971, he was the 3rd son of Karen L. Allen & Donald L. Allen. Kraig graduated from Oyster River High School in 1989 and Plymouth State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management in 1993. During his college years he worked in the kitchens of The Common Man and upon graduation he became the manager and head chef at the Italian Farmhouse in Plymouth. Kraig returned to Lee in 1998 to be near his family. He worked in management through the years in Dover, Durham, and Lee; the last eight spent with the Rite Aid Corporation.

Kraig leaves behind his wife and sous chef Amy C. Jones and beloved step-sons Trevor and Lucas Savage of Lee, his mother and step-father Bill Allen currently of Apache Junction, AZ, his father and Barbara Edwards of Lee and Naples, FL, his two brothers and their families Douglas Allen, wife Katrina, and their children Reed & Grace of Brentwood, NH, Derrick Allen, his wife Lisa and their son Cameron of Stratham, NH, his in-laws, Matthew Jones, wife Paula and brother-in-law Jeff Jones of Boston, MA, his aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends from high school and a tight knit group of friends in Lee. His extended family includes Bill's children, Elizabeth Nanda (Shiva) of Madbury, NH David Allen (Jennie) of Lee, and Daniel Allen (Sarah) of Weymouth, MA.

Cooking was his passion and the kitchen was his favorite room in the house. His wife and children will never have a meal made with more love than the ones he created for them. Kraig was a dog lover and bred boxers. Throughout his life he was never without a loyal boxer or two at his side. He loved spending time every summer with family and friends at the family cottage in Wells Beach, ME. His last wishes were to be cremated and have his ashes spread there. These wishes will be honored at a later date.

All are invited to the Celebration of Kraig’s Life on Monday, December 20, 2021 at the Community Church of Durham, 17 Main Street, Durham, NH. Service at 6pm. Reception to follow 7-9pm.
