Obituary for Phiroz Vazifdar

BOSTON — Phiroz Vazifdar, 50, of Barrington, NH, died Wednesday, November 4, 2020, at Mass General Hospital following an illness. Born in Mumbai, India on March 2, 1970, he moved to Meredith NH at the age of 6. He was predeceased by his parents Meher (Patel) Vazifdar of Meredith, NH and Dr. Jehangir Vazifdar of Mumbai. He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Kristi and daughter Laila, as well as many cousins in the US and abroad. A celebration of life will be held in the new year once restrictions are lifted.
Phiroz attended Inter-Lakes High School in Meredith, NH and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from Southern New Hampshire University. As an audiophile, he was thrilled to get a job at Bose Corporation after college. His most beloved role, however, was as stay-at-home Dad to his daughter Laila throughout her life.
Phiroz inspired all with his continuous positivity and his unfailing sense of humor, including his signature use of colorful nicknames. Phiroz was a wonderful cook and loved to share his love through food. He enjoyed adventures with his friends, always with a soundtrack of good music and his infectious laughter. In his younger years, he loved to travel, and especially enjoyed the years in which he spent time in London during the holidays. Phiroz bought a red Alfa Romeo Milano Verde as his first car and loved to work on it, which fueled a life-long passion for Italian sports cars. This love, along with appreciation for great music and photography will live on through Laila.
His wife and daughter were at the center of his world, and together they enjoyed weekends away, many live concerts, good food and time at home with their dogs. He fought every day to stay in their world and died peacefully by their side. A kind and generous soul to all who knew him, he was guaranteed to share a laugh with you. “For long you live and high you fly, and smiles you’ll give and tears you’ll cry. And all you touch and all you see is all your life will ever be.” - Pink Floyd. Phiroz, you shone like the sun.
