Obituary for Robert Thomas Robertshaw

Robert Thomas Robertshaw,92, of Cornish, Maine (since September 2018) left his earthly home on April 5, 2022, to be in his new home with Jesus and his family and friends who went before him to heaven. He was born on January 31, 1930, in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania. He lived and traveled around this globe. He loved to travel, as his granddaughter Katherine put
it, and did much of it with work and pleasure.

Robert (Bob)Loved Jesus and was looking so forward to being where he is, where Jesus has been preparing a room for him, and us the last 2000 years. (John14:3)

Bob lived a long full life doing what his theme song says as his daughter Jennifer stated,” I Did it My Way”. His grandson Quinn put it this way, “He told me he was ready whenever God took him, and that he was just having fun down here until he did.”

All the children in his life value the time that they were able to spend with him. He had 15 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren, along with many loved nieces and nephews. His twin grandsons Joshua and Jeremy, along with his great grandsons Wylie, Jasper, Tegan and Corbett, were taught to fly his control line planes. He loved those planes and flying them. He was in many competitions and won trophies. He even entered Jeremy and Joshua in a contest once, and they won trophies too. I think all the kids did. Grampy, as Bob was called to his grandkids, love doing puzzles, which he also passed down to all of his grandchildren and children.

Bob also loved telling stories! Joshua remembers, his favorite story from Grampy, about when he was running from the cops in his car, pulled into a side road, turned off his lights, and then watch the police pass by! It reminded Joshua of the Dukes of Hazzard.

Bob sister Mae remembers him as a loving brother. She and her daughter Sharon, marveled at his love of the control line planes, and his stories of his football playing years in high school. He loved sports! His grandson Corbett and Wylie are following in that area. Grampy was so proud when watching them play.

(Bob, Dad, Grampy, Uncle Bob, Great Grampy) will be remembered as the best hugger. He would just hold you tight and make you feel loved.

Bob got to spend the winters of 2020/2021 in Colorado with his daughters, Jen and Paula, and their families. It was a great time for him.

Christina, as Grampy called her, spent a lot of time with him because she lived close to him. He would call her and say,” This is your dear old lovable grandfather.” Christina found these last few years staying close to home to be a blessing. He was able to take time to teach her boys about one of his passions in life, flying those control line planes. Grampy loved sharing his knowledge with his grandchildren and he loved his sports, especially talking basketball with Corbett, who when he started out look like “the Bad News Bears”, but now at 13 he plays amazingly.

Mary, his Ukrainian foreign Flex student, who lived with him in 2019/2020, says that she hopes he’s happy now, always warm, and with Rachel driving his car around.

Hollie loved the way he smiled that big smile of his every time she saw him, and he gave her the biggest tightest hugs. That famous loving hug.

His son Tommy and our mother Patty loved it when Dad/Bob could agree on things. Lol😂They loved him so much.

(Bob, Dad, Uncle Bob, Grampy, Great Grampy) gave us a lot of memories. As Christina would put it, it’s the little memories that I’ll miss the most, like being called Christina, and he really is the only one who called me by my full name.

You left us with lots of wonderful memories dad, and we love you bunches.

Your grateful family ❤️
