Shirley S. White, 93 of Durham, NH passed away Friday February 12, 2021 at her place
of residence, Kirkwood Corners, Assisted Living Community, Lee NH. Shirley was born
November 9, 1927. Daughter of the late Eleanor and James Shapleigh.

Shirley graduated from Duke University, Durham N.C. where she met her husband of
44 years, Charles “Chuck” White Jr. She loved her time while residing in Geneva,
Switzerland with Chuck and her three children. Learning French, sampling life abroad,
traveling to many European countries and occasional apres-skiing produced many
fond memories.

She was predeceased by her parents, sister Ginny, brother Donald and son Bruce.
She is survived by her daughter Betsy Ann; son Charles P. III (Bud); grandchildren
David, Christopher, Annie, Chelsea, Dylan and Rémi-jo; great-grandchildren, Charles P.
IV (Chuck) and Rose Marie.

SERVICES: At Shirleys’ request, there will be no services. Shirley will be buried in a
private ceremony in the spring at the Durham town cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled by Purdy Funeral Service.

The family wishes to thank the caregivers at Kirkwood Corners who provided years of
loving care.
