Obituary for Steven R French

Steven R. French, 56 died unexpectedly January 25, 2022, at Portsmouth Regional Hospital. He was born April 6, 1965, in Haverhill, MA, the son of Richard and Lauretta (Cahill) French.
Steve graduated from Salem High School Class of 1983. Following high school, he graduated from New Hampshire Voc Tech in Manchester, NH. Steve started Dr. Steve’s Transmission Clinic 32 years ago. During this time, he created a long-lasting legacy and established himself and his company as a pillar of the community. He was a sponsor of the Mud Truck family and built performance transmissions for many trucks up and down the east coast.
Steve spent his time with his beloved wife traveling the world and relaxing at their Florida home (his Happy Place). The priority in his life was spending time with his two children and four grandchildren. He enjoyed boating in Florida and on Lake Winnipesaukee, and four wheeling on his property, Steve was an avid music lover who spent many nights with his wife by a bonfire, enjoying a cigar.
Steve is survived by his wife of 35 years Kathi (Moran) French; his son Matthew and his wife Sadie; daughter Amanda French and her girlfriend Brittney Fleury; his four grandchildren Ava, Carter, Harper and Wailyn; his sisters Laurie Cahill and husband Paul Hauser, Linda Menichelli and husband Hugo, Janice Vozzella; and brother Robert French.
Steve is predeceased by his parents Richard and Lauretta French.

Friends and family may call on Monday, January 31, 2022 from 3:00pm-5:00pm at Purdy Memorial Chapel, 2 Concord Road, Lee, NH, with a service at 5:00 pm with Father Ryan Amazeen officiating. A reception will follow.
