Obituary for William Richard Congo
Dover, NH: William Richard Congo, 83, of Hubbard Road, passed away on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 with his wife by his side. William was born on August 12, 1937 in Hartford, CT; the son of John and Vivian (Fall) Congo.
John Graduated from Westwood High School and Tufts with a Bachelors’ Degree in 1959.
He enjoyed working with the Boy Scouts and on the Wilbraham Finance Committee. Past President United Cerebral Palsy in Western, Mass, a member of the Granite Ambassador of Seabrook DOT, and a Downeaster station host. William is a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church, Springfield, MA.
He served proudly in the US Army as a Sergeant in the 959 Engineers from 1960-1966. He started at Liberty Mutual after the Army and worked until retirement in the late 1980’s working in the Home Office Examiner-Claims.
William is survived by his beloved wife, Judith (Foss Bugbee) Congo; his step sons, Timothy Bugbee of MA and Shaun Bugbee of NJ; his daughters, Heather Fitch of NC and Cynthia DeLuca of MA; four step grandchildren and 1 step great grandchildren.
William will be buried in the Hillcrest Park Cemetery in Springfield, MA, committal services by Reverend John Madvig.
There are no services at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in William’s name to the Shriner’s Hospital, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104.
